Terms of service
These terms govern your use of the IRO Fashion website and any order you place with us, whether for a custom-stitched garment or an item from our ready-made collection.
Last updated: [date to be set at publication] · Applies to [legal entity name] trading as IRO Fashion.
1. Who we are
IRO Fashion is a tailoring and clothing business operating from 178 Thevaththa Gamagoda, Kalutara South, Sri Lanka. The business is registered in Sri Lanka as [registered legal entity name], business registration number [business registration number]. VAT status: [VAT registered / not VAT registered, and number].
In these terms, “we”, “us” and “IRO Fashion” mean that business; “you” means the person placing an order.
2. What we sell
We provide two distinct services, and they are treated differently throughout these terms:
- Custom stitching (made-to-measure). A garment cut and stitched to your measurements, to a design agreed with you. You may supply your own material, or ask us to source it for you.
- Ready-made items. Stock garments and accessories sold from our online shop in standard sizes.
Because a custom-stitched garment is made specifically for you, it cannot be resold to anyone else. This is why the returns and refunds policy treats the two categories differently.
3. Placing an order
Submitting a stitching request or completing checkout is an offer to buy. A contract is formed only when we confirm the order — by email, message or in person. We may decline an order, for example where an item is out of stock, where a requested design is not something we can make to the standard we expect, or where we cannot verify the delivery details.
You may place an order as a guest. Creating an account is optional and only affects whether your order history is shown back to you on this site.
For custom stitching, you are responsible for the accuracy of the measurements and design choices you give us. We will tell you where a measurement looks inconsistent, and you are welcome to visit us at 178 Thevaththa Gamagoda, Kalutara South, Sri Lanka to be measured instead.
4. Materials you supply
Where you supply your own fabric, please bring or send sufficient material for the garment. We will advise on quantity before cutting, but we cannot be responsible for a shortfall in material you supplied, nor for faults, shrinkage or colour behaviour inherent in that material.
Uncollected offcuts are held for [offcut retention period] and then disposed of.
5. Prices and payment
- All prices are shown in Sri Lankan Rupees (LKR) and are [inclusive / exclusive] of taxes.
- Custom stitching is quoted per garment. A quotation is valid for [quotation validity period] from the date we give it.
- We may ask for a deposit of [deposit percentage] before work begins on a custom garment. Deposits cover material and labour already committed.
- Online payments are handled by our payment provider, [payment gateway name]. We never see or store your full card details.
- If a price is listed in obvious error, we will contact you before proceeding and you may cancel without charge.
6. Delivery and collection
Delivery arrangements, charges and timeframes are set out in our delivery policy. Finished garments may also be collected from our premises.
Finished garments left uncollected for [uncollected garment holding period] after we notify you may be disposed of, and any deposit may be retained to cover the material and labour already spent.
7. Alterations and fit
Made-to-measure work is iterative. Where a finished garment does not match the measurements recorded on your order, we will alter it at no charge. Where the measurements were recorded correctly but you would like a different fit, we will quote for the alteration.
Please raise any fit concern within [alteration request window] of receiving the garment, and before it has been worn, washed or altered by anyone else.
8. Your account
If you sign in with Google, we create a customer account for you. That account gives you access to your own orders only. It confers no administrative access to this site of any kind.
Keep your Google account secure; anyone who can sign in to it can see your order history here.
9. Our responsibility to you
We take care to describe our work accurately. Hand-finished garments and natural fabrics vary slightly, and small differences in shade, weave or drape are not defects.
Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under Sri Lankan consumer protection law, including under the Consumer Affairs Authority Act. Beyond those rights, our liability in relation to an order is limited to the amount you paid for it. [liability wording to be confirmed by a legal advisor]
10. Designs and content
Photographs, text and designs on this site belong to IRO Fashion and may not be copied for commercial use without permission. Reference images you upload remain yours; you grant us permission to use them for the sole purpose of making your garment.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version in force when you place an order is the one that applies to that order.
12. Governing law and complaints
These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, and the courts of Sri Lanka have jurisdiction. [governing-law clause to be confirmed]
If something has gone wrong, please contact us first at [customer contact email] or [customer contact phone]. We would much rather fix it than argue about it.
